COMMAND CENTER: AN INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO JOB SOLUTIONS
Command Center provides flexible on-demand employment and staffing solutions to businesses nationwide through a network of about 60 company- owned branch stores. Our offices provide broad geographical coverage, from Texas to North Dakota and California to Virginia. On a typical workday, we send more than 3,000 employees to customer project sites. In 2012, we provided employment for 35,000 individuals who worked 5,490,000 hours for about 3,400 clients; and all those indicators are showing meaningful growth in 2012.
On any given day, our workers can be seen moving freight in warehouses, refitting "big box" stores and filling orders in distribution centers. We routinely staff stadiums for major sporting events, provide banquet servers for hotel and convention facilities, and perform a wide variety of office functions. In addition to specializing in the core areas of light industrial, hospitality and event services, the company has become a major supplier of workers needed for disaster relief and other emergency response projects resulting from the natural disasters that have disrupted many communities throughout the country.
Command's success lies with its people. Rather than simply fill job orders like any other temp business, management and employees have embraced a singular objective: Exceeding Expectations Every Time. This begins with the recognition that our workers, or Field Team Members (FTMs), are the cornerstone of our business. We have many programs designed to incentivize and motivate our FTMs; and that translates into a better qualified workforce which, in turn, consistently delivers superior service to satisfied customers nationwide. This novel service strategy has been validated by Command's ability in 2012 to enter into new vertical and geographic markets with a rapidly expanding customer base during a time when the national economy has been sluggish.
Activities in the Bakken Oil Shale Region of North Dakota represent a unique opportunity for Command Center. Bakken Staffing, which operates out of the company's six North Dakota offices and its newest office in Billings, Montana, was founded in September 2011 to service the rising employment needs of both energy and service-related businesses in that region. The oil and gas development of the Bakken is expected to greatly expand the utilization of perma-temps. More and more businesses that are reluctant to hire on a large scale are coming to companies like Command Center to provide them with reliable workers for projects of indefinite duration.
