iMedicor owns, manages and offers its SocialHIE, the first social network for the healthcare community coupled with a Health Information Exchange.
There are 740,000 practicing physicians and over 2.5 million support staff in the medical healthcare community.
The US Government has approved regulations compelling every healthcare provider and facility, with no exceptions, to transition from a paper/physical-based records and communication system to a fully automated digital Electronic Health Records (EHR) system by December 31, 2014.
Until recently, it was difficult for the healthcare community to use the Internet for the transmission or discussion of patient-specific information due to HIPAA or privacy regulations, thus making the transition to a digital format illogical.
iMedicor’s HIPAA-compliant SocialHIE enables the healthcare community to use the speed and efficiency of the Internet in the transmission, transportation and communication of patient specific information including records, files, images or any other attachments to its secure messaging system.
SocialHIE is a social/professional network; it leverages the many advantages that consumer-based social networks offer in terms of growth and rapid adoption. In addition, SocialHIE offers a collection of secure tools that enhance the day-to-day clinical workflow at the practice and medical facility level compelling healthcare providers to return to the iMedicor site, on a regular basis, to use those tools.
Features and benefits available to physicians and other subscribers through SocialHIE include, but are not limited to:
1. A HIPAA-Compliant communications network.
2. NHIN Direct secure messaging with attachments
3. The tools to build a targeted and dedicated community of physicians and staff and limit permissions much like in a real-life medical practice or hospital environment.
4. Access to other communities, work groups and referral groups within iMedicor’s SocialHIE.
5. Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. iMedicor offers an extensive peer-reviewed catalog of programs from some of the top medical schools, societies and facilities in the country. Physicians are required to have, on average, 22 hours of CME credits per year in order to maintain their right to practice medicine and renew their license.
6. Staff development programs available through iMedicor’s education collection.
Meaningful Use Consulting Services engages physicians with practice assessment and planning, and includes the selection of an EHR system (CCHIT certified, ONC approved) that qualifies for federal funding. It provides ongoing guidance and support to ensure that each client practice attests to Meaningful Use and ultimately qualifies to receive the federal reimbursement funds to which it is entitled.
